Library offers September programs
STEUBENVILLE -- The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County will offer several programs throughout its branches in September.
Brilliant Branch, 740-314-4309, will host Color Your Cares Away for adults at 6 p.m. Sept. 24, with supplies provided. Grab-and-Go Story Time for children begins Sept. 21, while supplies last, and includes “Because of an Acorn” by Lola Schaefer.
Dillonvale Branch, 740-314-4310, will host its Thriller Book Club at 10 a.m. Sept. 22 to discuss “King of Ashes” by S.A. Cosby. Call to join. Children ages 2-6 can participate in Play and Learn the Alphabet at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 24, followed by an acorn painting activity at 5:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Bergholz Branch, 740-314-6207, will host Gene Zrinyi of Tri-State Financial at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 21 for a program on creating and tracking a budget and developing healthy spending habits. Tiltonsville Branch, 740-314-4280, will offer coffee, donuts and a movie at 10 a.m. Sept. 22. Call for the movie selection. Grab-and-Go Story Time begins Sept. 21, while supplies last, and includes “Because of an Acorn.”
The library’s first Art & Craft Festival will be held from noon-5 p.m. Sept. 26 at Belleview Park in Steubenville. The family-friendly event will feature local art, crafts, food, a paint station, chalk art, rock art and an Art Walk highlighting iconic painters and artwork. Participants who complete the Art Walk can pick up a prize at the festival.
Belmont County Board of Health to meet
ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- The Belmont County Board of Health will hold its regular meeting at 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at the Belmont County EMA Building on Bannock Road, off state Route 331.
Finance Committee meeting set
ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- The St. Clairsville City Finance Committee will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, to review and discuss salary schedules, wage rates and related compensation matters for all non-elected, non-union city employees. The meeting is open to the public.
Martins Ferry Council meets Wednesday
MARTINS FERRY -- Martins Ferry City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in council chambers at the city building. The meeting is open to the public.
Union Local BOE meeting on tap
BELMONT COUNTY -- The Union Local School District Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the high school Learning Center.
