WEST, Luella Farmer

WEST, Luella Farmer, 83, of Bellaire, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday March 4, 2008, in the Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia.

She was born May 3, 1924 in Glenville, West Virginia, a daughter of the late William H. and Goldie Collins Farmer.

Luella was a beautician working for many years at the beauty shop in Stone and Thomas Department Store; she later owned the Beauty Bazar located in the Ogden Building before moving to the McLain Building and at the same time cared for the patient’s hair at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home for twenty-years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellaire.

Luella enjoyed helping with the Living Bread Soup Kitchen and the Senior Citizens. She loved working ouside with her flowers and her beloved dogs, Gigi and Lacey. She also enjoyed playing cards with the Over 50 Club; and was an avid traveler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her special friend and companion, Albert Digiandomenico.

Surviving are four children, Michelle Herndon of Bridge port, Ohio, Wayne C. (Peggy) West of Blaine, Ohio, Mark West of Columbus, Ohio and Ronald West of Ohio; a stepdaughter, Lou Ann (Bob) Bennett of Bellaire; also eight grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.

Her special family includes, Bobbie Jo and Dave Maguire and their son, David, April and Rodney Stoner and their children, Danielle, Taylor and Natalie, and Robert and Roxanne Bennett and their children, Bobby and A.J.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht- Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441 37th Street, Bellaire on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ric Hendrix officiating.

Entombment in the Holly Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
