ARTHUR ZELENT
Arthur H. “Art” Zelent, 93, of Dove Avenue, Adena, OH, died Monday, October 5, 2015, in Adena Health and Rehabilitation Center in Adena.
Born December 15, 1921, in Chicago, he was the son of the late John and Adele Reinshuk Zelent.
Arthur was retired from R & F Coal Co.; a WWII Navy veteran; a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bridgeport; a member of the Adena American Legion; and a member of the Pine Valley Sportsmans Club.
He loved his family, fishing and socializing with his friends. He never met a stranger, as he loved life and people. He always had a smile and a hug for everyone. Art was so proud of Adena, as he loved living there and all the people there. It was his home, and a very special place to him.
In addition to his parents, Art is preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Faye Pitner Zelent on June 1, 2012; two brothers, Adolph and Alex Zelent; and a sister, Ruth Zelent.
He is survived by a son, John A. Zelent (Missy) of Clewiston, FL; three daughters, Debbie Birbeck (Keith Doloresco) of Adena, Tina (Jeff) Ricchetti of Castle Dale, Utah, and Judy (Dr. Dan) Jones of Adena,; a sister, Judy (Richard) Wojtal of Chicago; five grandchildren, Ryan Zelent, Tatum Hanson, Nico Ricchetti, John Zelent II, and Rhiannon Jones; and three great-grandchildren, Shayd and Kingston Hanson, and Riott Ricchetti.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Art and celebrate his life Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Adena, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Msgr. John Kolesar officiating.
Full military honors will be conducted at the Holly Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Pleasant Grove, OH, by the Adena American Legion.
