GARY CARPENTER

He was born May 13, 1937, son of the late Leonard Carpenter and Harriett Wood Carpenter.

A retiree from the Village of Barnesville, Gary was a 50-year member of the American Legion and the Elks. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he had a deep love for his family and his grandchildren were his greatest joy. He enjoyed college football, old movies, and loved cats. Gary took the time to enjoy the simple things in life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Pamela Ann (Price) Carpenter.

Gary is survived by his wife of 33 1/2 years, Ruth Carpenter of Barnesville; sons, Eric (Krista) Carpenter, Jason (Joni) Carpenter, Robert Carpenter all of Barnesville, William (Lorna) Carpenter of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; sister, May Jo (Jim) Huntsman of Batesville; and brother, Timothy (Maria) Carpenter of Springhill, Florida.

Family and friends are welcome to visit, Monday from 4-8 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. A Vigil Service will be conducted Monday at 4 p.m., with Father Dave Cornett presiding. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Tuesday 10 a.m., Assumption Catholic Church, 306 W. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Father Dave Cornett presiding. Interment will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio, where Military Honors will be presented.
