CAROLYN SPRINGER
Carolyn Ruth Morris Springer, 88, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, formerly of Pleasant Grove, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on March 16, 2019, at Liza’s Place, Wheeling, WV.
She was born on June 1, 1930, in Sandhill, WV. She was the daughter of the late Wallace E. Morris and Ruth (Welling) Morris.
Carolyn was a long time member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and several area churches throughout the years, including the Harrisville United Methodist Church, Friends Church in Mt. Pleasant and currently Thoburn United Methodist Church in St. Clairsville. Carolyn’s devotion and strong Christian faith led her and her husband, Jack, to work at Teen Challenge in Dallas Pike, WV, the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program, and traveled worldwide giving their testimony for God in countries such as Ireland, Israel and South Africa. She was also a 4-H leader and a Girl Scout Leader along with keeping the books for Springer Auto Rebuilders.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jack Springer, in 2006 and brother, Ronald Morris.
Surviving are her daughters, Dana Howell and Darcy Springer both of St. Clairsville, OH, and Kelly (Rex) Hamlin of Old Fort, NC; six grandchildren, Jaime (Joe) Carr of Knoxville, TN, Jodi (Eric) Taylor of St. Clairsville, OH, Bryan (Melissa) Rico of Mt. Pleasant, OH, Clayton (Tiffany) Rico of Nashport, OH, Retta Rico of Miami, FL, and Jessica Hamlin of Asheville, NC; and also nine great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday March 21, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road Brookside, OH, and then on Friday from 10 a.m. till time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tom Jones officiating. Interment at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove.
