JOSEPH BOSTON Sr
Joseph George Boston Sr., 72, of Bellaire, OH, passed away on June 22, 2019, at Wheeling Hospital.
Joe was born November 9, 1946, in Bellaire, OH, son of the late Josephine Marie DelMonte Boston and Rex Boston.
He was retired from the State of Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections, and retired from Nickles Bakery.
He was a former member of Bellaire Fire Department, a member of the American Legion Post 52 Bellaire, a member of St. John Catholic Church, and a Vietnam Army Veteran.
Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Cheryl A. Donahue Boston. His four children, Joseph (LeAnn) Boston Jr. of Bellaire, OH, Tammy (Brad) Eller of Bellaire, OH, and twins, Stacy (Dom) DelVecchio of Pataskala, OH and Bryan (Lindsey Beaver) Boston of Pickerington, OH.; two brothers, Mike (Jeri) Boston of Bellaire, OH and Charlie (Joanie) Boston of Wintersville, OH; a sister, Maryann Colyer of Bellefontaine, OH; five grandchildren, Brock, Josette, Grace, Dominic, and Nico; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-laws, Dot(Vince), MaryJane( Russ), Sandy(Paul),Betty(Richard)and Paula(Rick); brothers-in-law, Jerry (Connie), Buzzy(Fran),Jack(Linda), Dick and Mike(Linda).
Deceased brother-in-laws, Bud( Ann),Bill(Genetta) Jim(Sharon)and Tom(MeHee).
Joe loved being outdoors, in his garden, washing his cars, cooking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Family was so important, and when together, he always had a smile on his face.
He was always thoughtful and loved to surprise Cheryl with all the little things in life. He was a social butterfly and loved life!
He will be sadly missed by all.
Family and friends will be received from 2 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, OH.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, at St. John Catholic Church, Bellaire, OH, with Fr Daniel Heusel as celebrant. The ODRC Honor Guard will preside over Joe at funeral home while U.S. Military will be providing graveside honors.
Burial follows at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire, OH.
