PENNY SHANE
Penny J. (Frohnapfel) Shane, 66, of Colerain, OH, died Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH. She was born May 18, 1953, in Martins Ferry, OH, a daughter of the late Ray and June (Jones) Frohnapfel.
Penny was a retired dedicated educator and guidance counselor with the Belmont Harrison Vocational School District. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Martins Ferry.
She served as a chairman for the Belmont County Guidance Counselors Association and was an advocate for all children. She was a member of several educational organizations throughout the state of Ohio. Penny was a former member of the Martins Ferry Child Study Club. She was a proud graduate of MFHS, earned a Bachelors Degree at Ohio University and a Master’s Degree at the University of Dayton.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years, R. Bruce Shane, her children; Jason (Gina) Shane and Kellen Shane both of Colerain, grandchildren; Gianna, Luca, Kolson and Sophia Shane, siblings; Ray (Chris) Frohnapel of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and Sandy (Ken) Fogle of Belmont, OH and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Tuesday, August 13, 2019, from 11 a.m. until time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. with Mr. Jack Creditt officiating.
