FRANK BENCH

Frank G. “Jerry” Bench, 80, of Bridgeport, OH, died Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Forest Hills Care Center, in St. Clairsville, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 4, 1939, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Frank and Louise (Marx) Bench.

He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Yorkville Plant with 39 years of service; he was also a former employee of Wilson Funeral Home, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, St Clairsville, where he served as a deacon. Jerry was a member of the Grand Lodge F&AM of Ohio Weyer Lodge 541 in Centerville, Osiris Shrine of Wheeling, Grand Council Royal and Select Masons of Ohio, the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, Hope Commandry 26 Knights Templar of Bridgeport, Bellaire Chapter 107 Royal Arch Masons, Secret Vault of Bellaire Council 87, all of these for over 50 years. He also was a graduate of St. Clairsville High School, Class of 1957.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Bench; and brother-in-law, Christ Pashalis.

Survived are his loving wife of 50 years, Nettie (Muklewicz) Bench; a son, Kevin (Rebbeca) Bench of Bridgeport; two loving grandchildren, Emily and Matthew Bench; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Pashalis of Bridgeport.

Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 1-8 p.m., with Masonic services at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Tim Wilt officiating. Interment to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
