Carl Ray Wells, 81, of Malaga passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 surrounded by his family at home. Carl was born on September 27, 1938 in Malaga, Ohio to the late Elijah J. and Hazel Mae (Burkhart) Wells.

Carl was a member of the Somerton United Methodist Church. He was a 1956 graduate of Beallsville High School. Carl worked as a cement mason for Byrum Construction and went on to purchase the company and renamed it Carl Wells and Sons. Carl was a member of BPOE 1699 and the Cement Masons Local 109.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jay Wells.

Carl is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Lucas) Wells; three children: Brian (Vickie) Wells of Malaga, Beth (Kirk) Schwall of Gahanna and Tony (Michelle) Wells of Malaga; seven grandchildren: William, Christopher, Kelsi, Sarah, Andrew, Alayna and Brooke; four great-grandchildren: Ryanna, Will, Mykan and Kydan and another great-grandchild on the way.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio with an Elks Service at 7:45 p.m. The service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Ev. Jamie Helmick officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Carl’s name to the 3C Cancer Group or the West Main Street Church of Christ.
