HUNTER BROWN

Hunter Biddle Brown, 94, of St. Clairsville, OH died Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Valley Hospice North, Steubenville, OH.

Hunter was born November 23, 1924 in Athens, OH a son of the late Hunter S. and Cathryn A. Biddle Brown.

He was a retired Central Office Repairman for Ohio Bell Telephone Company, a member of St. John United Church of Christ, American Legion Post # 159 and proudly served in the U.S. Army during WW II during the Battle of the Bulge. In addition, he was a member of Ohio Bell Telephone Pioneers and enjoyed woodworking, community service and helping his friends and family with household repairs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in law, Michael A. Zambito; a granddaughter, Jennifer Zambito-Knaur and her unborn child.

Surviving are his wife Betty Ann Howell Brown of St. Clairsville; his children, Joyce Zambito of Wheeling, WV., Patricia (Jack) Ranttila of Chicago, IL., Roger (Vickie Wirth) Brown of Beals Island, ME and Amy (Matthew) Hiner of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; nine grandchildren, Christopher Zambito, Mark Zambito, Sarah McEachern, Timothy Ranttila, Annie Ranttila, Emily Hiner, Bennett Hiner, Madeline Hiner; 12 great-grandchildren; cousin, John Biddle of Athens, OH.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Margie Carr officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by Belmont County Veterans Association at 3:45 p.m. at Care Funeral & Cremation Specialist 204 West Main Street St. Clairsville, OH. Burial in Alexander Cemetery, Albany, OH will be held on Sunday at 11 a.m.
