JOHN MYERS
Dr. John T. Myers, PhD of St. Clairsville, OH died Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born December 23, 1935 in Martins Ferry, OH a son of the late Lydia Myers.
Dr. Myers was a retired principal/teacher of the Martins Ferry City School District for 35 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgeport, OH and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
John was an avid Cleveland Indians, Browns, O.S.U. and Purple Rider Fan. Education was his life and he taught others to be a lifetime learner as he was himself.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Lude.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Jessie L. (Hood) Myers, children; Jill L. Myers of St. Clairsville and John T. (Brenda) Myers of Blacklick, OH and a grandson, Joseph T. Myers of St. Clairsville.
Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Thursday 4-8 p.m. where services will be held Friday, November 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Thomas N. Thomas officiating.
Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Belmont County Veteran’s Assoc. will present Military Honors, Friday at 10:45 a.m. in the funeral home.
