JEANETTE PONTIA

She is a child of God, the daughter of Patricia Schuller Pontia and the late Raymond A. Pontia of Yorkville, OH, and the mother of Jenilee, Jillian, and Juliette McNamara of TN. She is the sister of Debra Norman (Steve) of St. Clairsville, OH; Raymark Pontia (Vivian) of Rayland, OH; and David Pontia (Dianne) of Columbus, OH.

Jan was a part of a faith family of beloved people throughout the country. She most enjoyed her work within the Catholic Church of the Nativity serving the Lord as a lector, prayer warrior, and member of the Rosary group. Through the years, she also enjoyed being a CRHP retreat liturgist/sacristan, Eucharistic minister, and serving in the financial ministry and choir at her other home churches.

Jan enjoyed touching lives by being a teacher for Wheeling Park High School and an instructional technologist for Wheeling Jesuit University, Birmingham Southern College, Northwest Florida State College and Middle Tennessee State University.

Jan will be remembered at a Funeral Mass at the Catholic Church of the Nativity on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 1 p.m. The Mass will be preceded by rosary prayer starting at 12:30 p.m. Inurnment will follow in the Resurrection Columbarium at Maury Memorial Gardens.
