THOMAS McFARLAND
Thomas J. McFarland, 87, of Colerain, OH died Monday, December 2, 2019 at Cumberland Pointe Care Center, St. Clairsville, OH.
He was born August 17, 1932 in Martins Ferry, OH, a son of the late John L. and Beatrice (Kinney) McFarland.
Tom retired from the Martins Ferry Plant, Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co.
He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church of Colerain, OH, Ohio River Valley Elks Lodge 231 and the former VFW Post 4811, both of Martins Ferry. Tom was a veteran of U.S. Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard A., C. William and Robert K. McFarland.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 59 years, Anna M. “Annie” (Muntean) McFarland; his children: Thomas P. (Michelle Hull) McFarland of Shadyside, OH, Dan (Audrey) McFarland of Charlotte, NC and Timothy (Christine) McFarland of Winter Park, FL; his brother, James P. (Betty) McFarland of Sunset Heights; and his grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelley, Daniel, Ryan, Joseph, Joshua and Robert McFarland.
Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 6, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 72581 Colerain Road, Colerain, OH with Fr. Timothy McGuire and Fr. Dale Tornes officiating. Burial follows at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
