Barry Walter Zalesny, 70, of Bellaire, Ohio died Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Valley Hospice South’s Liza’s Place in Wheeling.

He was born February 15, 1949 in Harrisburg, PA, son of the late Walter Zalesny and Madeline Kreishner Anderson.

Barry was a retired Bellaire Police lieutenant and former Bellaire Village councilman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jeannine Anderson.

Surviving are his wife, Sherri Lynn Edwards Zalesny; children, Sean (Lauren) Zalesny of Green, OH, Jeremie (Alicia Wasko) Reger and Amanda (Kyle) Greenlee, both of Shadyside, OH; sisters, Sharon (Stan) Vollmar of Stockport, OH, Fran (David Cline) Gibbons of Shadyside, OH, Sandy (Furman) Waddell and Denise Bolich, both of Warminster, PA; also three granddaughters, Michaela, Alayna and Gemma Greenlee; and great-granddaughter, Lorelai.

Barry raised and mentored many children, including John (Amber) Majzun; and a special thank you to his close friend and caregiver, Gerald Bruce.

Celebration of Barry’s life will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the American Legion Post 521 Shadyside from 1 to 5 p.m.
