D. JEAN LUCCI

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, D. Jean Lucci, 92, of Martins Ferry, formerly of Indian Run, Bellaire.

Jean was born in Wheeling, on January 25, 1928, the youngest by (45 minutes) of a set of twins (Doris Joan) to Gerhart and Jessie (Porter) Church of Riverview, OH.

She worked for many years as office assistant to Bellaire optometrist, Dr. Dom Pinzone and later for Dr. Joe Bannon and Dr. Ray Bannon. After retiring from the office, Jean volunteered for over 20 years at Bellaire City Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Lucci in April 2019. June 6, 2019 would have been their 72nd wedding anniversary; her twin sister, Doris Marling; and two brothers, James and Richard Church.

Jean is survived by two children, Gay (Francine Casino) Lucci and Debbie (Tom) Murry; five grandchildren, Alexis (Ron) Smith, Amanda (Bobby Hubbard), Adam Lucci, Tom (Allison Kimmel) Murry and Jordan Murry; two great- grandchildren complete the family, Joseph Louis (Joey) Murry and Teagan Harper Murry.

The family would like to thank Jean’s neighbor, Bryan Giles, affectionately known as Soldier. He has been a Godsend to Jean and Lou from the day he moved in. A world of gratitude to Jean’s niece, Marsha Rockefeller who traveled on numerous occasions, at a moments notice, to help with the care of Jean and Lou over the last year. The highlight of Jean’s last year was her Thursday lunch dates at the Blue Angel with her special friend, Ann Traylinek, and her son-in-law, Tom. Thank you to Dorothy Herman and Dee Barcalow for a lifetime of friendship.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road., Brookside. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Father Dan Huesel officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Catholic Church, 415 37th St., Bellaire, OH 43906.
