FRANK “DAVE” BARTYZEL

Frank David “Dave” Bartyzel, 71, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died at home surrounded by his family March 27, 2020.

He was born August 27, 1948, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a son of the late Frank Walter Bartyzel and Katherine “Katie” Kopral Bartyzel.

Dave was retired from the finishing department as a Temper Mill Operator for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel’s Martins Ferry Plant. He was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Barton and a U.S. Army veteran serving in Panama during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion in Martins Ferry. Dave loved woodworking, especially making items for his church family. He also enjoyed cutting grass, baseball, taking trips which included going to the Amish Country and enjoyed golfing in the Wednesday morning golf league. Dave was an avid slot player and enjoyed traveling all over to casinos with friends and family.

Surviving are his loving wife, Debra “Debbie” Cunningham Bartyzel, his two children, Tonya (Bob) Mangerie and Michael (Carrie) Bartyzel, a brother, James Bartyzel and two grandchildren, Annabea and Autumn.

With the recommendations from the State and Federal Government, the family understands that there have been limits placed on groups. However, there will be visitation and services for their family and very close friends. The visitation will be at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. with Parastas and Panachida Services starting at 6:30 p.m. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Very Reverend Michael Kabel officiating.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 11:15 a.m. in St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, Barton, Ohio.

The family will have a celebration of life service at a later date.
