KENNETH F. BARBINA

Kenneth F. Barbina, 66, of Lafferty, Ohio, passed away on March 10, 2020, in Liza’s Place, Wheeling, WV.

Ken was born April 23, 1953, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a son of the late Phillip F. and Helen J. (Dyrdek) Barbina.

He was brought up in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Lafferty, was later a member of Rockhill Baptist Church, and most recently enjoyed services at Thoburn Methodist Church. His faith was inspiring, giving comfort in knowing that we will meet again.

Ken was a retiree from Consolidation Coal Company – Mahoning Valley Mine in Cadiz, Ohio, and worked with the Silver Spade and Gem of Egypt. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jason P. Barbina; a sister, Phyllis Wagner; a nephew, Keith Baker and his Godmother, Cecelia George.

Ken is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy A. Barbina; three sons, Kenneth A. (wife Emily) Barbina, Adam L. Barbina and Andrew S. Barbina; a sister, Kathy Baker; a brother, James (LuAnne) Barbina; and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, on Saturday from 2 p.m. until a remembrance observance at 4:30 p.m. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be forwarded to causes that represent Ken’s generosity to others and families with children battling Muscular Dystrophy.
