John R. Hardesty, 89, of Beulah, Colorado passed away peacefully at home May 5, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Paul & Ruth Hardesty and his brothers, David & Robert Hardesty.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Nancy Hardesty; children, Sheryl Porter, J. Michael (Patty) Hardesty, Suzanne Hardesty; grandson, Jason (Trip Gardner) Moorehead; brother, C. Richard (Dorothy) Hardesty; nephew, Douglas Hardesty and great-nephew, Ian Hardesty.
He was born and raised in St. Clairsville, Ohio. After graduating from St. Clairsville High School, John served in the US Navy. Upon return from the Navy, John worked first for the St. Clairsville Water Department and then as company clerk for the Hanna Coal Company. John was president and long-time member of the Saints Club (athletic boosters), and he enjoyed running the clock for the St. C. high school football games for many years. Some of his favorite activities included bowling, horseshoes, shuffleboard, and celebrating his Scottish heritage.
