KAREN BURGE

She was born June 22, 1959, in Wheeling, West Virginia, daughter of Dolores Campbell Iles and the late William Harry Iles.

Karen was a long time employee of Belmont College. She was a member of the St. Clairsville Moose Lodge and served on the St. Clairsville Architectural Review Board. Karen was a very artistic person who enjoyed photography and creating all types of art projects in her workshop, many of which she gave to family and friends as gifts. She loved music and all kinds of outdoor activities, especially gardening and kayaking and boating with friends at Piedmont Lake.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, William H. Iles Jr. and a stepdaughter, Melissa Ilene Burge.

Surviving are her mother Dolores Iles; her loving husband of 14 years, John Burge; son Dan Eaton; two stepsons John (Nicole) Burge and Keith (Courtney) Burge; a sister, Jayne (Jack) Long; nine grandchildren, Emily Allen, Natalie Mercer, John Burge, George Burge, Christian Patricola, Charles Burge, Scarlet Nichols, Lucas Burge and Griffin Burge; a nephew and niece, Ryan Long and Allison Powell; and two great nephews, Hunter Long and Beau Powell.

Karen will be greatly missed by her family and many dear friends.

Private services held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
