WILLIAM STROUS

William Allen Strous was born March 6, 1938 in Bethesda, Ohio, a son of the late Earl (Sam) Strous and Jessie Alberta (Bert) Strous.

Bill retired from the United States Air Force after serving over 20 years on July 1, 1976 and from Box USA, Inc., Bethesda, Ohio on October 1, 1999. He was a member of the Barnesville First United Methodist Church, Barnesville Sons of the American Legion Squadron 168 and Barnesville Kiwanis Club. Bill was a LIFE MEMBER of the following organizations: Barnesville VFW Post 2792, American Legion Post 168, Barnesville Disabled American Veterans Chapter 121, Air Force Sergeants Association, The Retired Enlisted Association, and the American Military Society. He was a Past Commander of the Belmont County Council of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 121. Bill was Barnesville Citizen of the Year 2019.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marcela Vidal Strous, stepson Florentino Pena, great granddaughter Claudia Malong, a brother Gary Strous, and a brother-in-law Dale Hendershot.

Bill is survived by a sister Sharon Hendershot, brother Richard Strous, several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 11:00 am at Ebenezer Cemetery, with Reverend Tom Detling officiating. Care has been entrusted to Campbell- Plumly- Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut Street Barnesville, Ohio 43713.
