KATHRYN WHITELEY

Kathryn “Kate” Elizabeth Whiteley, 98, of Lore City, Ohio, formerly of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away July 27, 2020, at home, non COVID related, with her family at her side.

Born May 15, 1922 in Belmont, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Etta Groves Perkins, bringing much joy to the Perkins family.

Kate is also preceded in death by her husband, George Whiteley; sister, Evelyn Wright; and brothers, Vernon and Oliver Perkins.

Surviving Kate are her daughter, Marilyn (Richard) Durr of Lore City; grandchildren, Richard Lane and Tamara Geiser; great- grandchildren, Michael, Makayla, Kathryn, Samantha, Luke; great-great-grandchildren, Eliana and Alexander; sisters, Della Knecht of Akron, Barbara Hopper of Batavia; brother, William Perkins of Barnesville; and many lives that she touched during her journey.

Kate was a woman of deep and unfailing faith that guided her life every day. Until she was 93, she volunteered at Barnesville hospital. She treasured God’s gift of family and her many friends.

Honoring Kate’s request, a private Graveside Service followed by interment will take place Thursday at Holly Memorial Gardens. Pastor Brent Hopper will officiate.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Kate’s name to Chestnut Level Christian Church, P.O. Box 95, Belmont, Ohio 43718.
