LORNA KNIGHT
Lorna M. Knight, 90, of Powhatan Point, OH died Monday, September 14, 2020 at Country Club Retirement Campus, Bellaire, OH. Lorna was born May 14, 1930 in Graysville, WV, a daughter of the late Encil and Delphia White Wingrove.
Lorna was retired bookkeeper at Powhatan Hardware and Powhatan Lumber Company. Lorna was a lay minister performing weddings, funerals and served the community at Amity United Methodist Church. She served as its treasurer, Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school teacher, United Methodist Women, Delegate of the United Methodist Church Conference, and a choir member.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Brent E. Knight; a son-in-law, Dennis E. Brown; two brothers, William and Marion “Jiggs” Wingrove; a grandson-in-law, Jason Walt.
Surviving are her husband of 72 years, Harold E. Knight of Powhatan Point; her children, Merritt L. (Theresa) Knight of Powhatan Point, Deborah J. Brown of Pickerington, OH, and Brian (Christine) Knight of Blacklick, OH; a sister, Lola VanDyne of New Castle, OH; a brother, Elson “Lou” (Betty) Wingrove of St. Clairsville, OH; grandchildren, Sundae Knight, Meredith Walt, Matthew Brown, Corey Knight, Jeff Knight, Maxine Knight, Bentley Knight; great grandchildren, Verena Disch, Chase Eckman, Michael Brown, Rosslyn Walt, Hunter Knight, Rylee Knight, Jason Knight.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 10 am to 1:45 pm at Bauknecht – Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 186 Main Street Powhatan Point, OH 43942 with graveside funeral services at 2 pm at Powhatan Cemetery with Rev. Randy Weaver officiating.
