MARK D ARCHER

Mark Douglas Archer, 59, formerly of St. Clairsville, Ohio, left us unexpectedly at Cleveland Clinic hospital on Sept 21, 2020. He was a beloved husband, step-father, son-in-law, brother, father and grandfather.

Born Sept 14, 1961 in Zanesville, Ohio, to Taylor James Archer Jr. and Mary Margaret Schoeppner Archer (both deceased).

He is a 1979 graduate of St. Clairsville High School. Served in the United States Air Force 1986-1990 as an aerospace jet engine specialist. He was given an honorable discharge, receiving 2 medals.

Mark joined the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, Local 83 in 1993 and planned to retire next year and live life to its fullest. He was well-deserving and worked hard in his accomplishments.

He was a man of many skills, there wasn’t a job too big or too small that he wouldn’t tackle.

His passion was cooking, he often said he missed his calling to be a chef, which would be true.

His biggest love was walking our family dog Bella, who had him wrapped around her paw, and playing with our cat Gizmo.

He enjoyed gardening, canning, traveling, hiking, fishing and had a love for antiques especially refinishing pieces that caught his eye, bringing them back to their former glory.

You never knew what he was going to build next.

He will be remembered for his unconditional loving heart, selflessness, teasing jokes, pranks, his wildly entertaining stories, his unfailing work ethic, his generous smile and his willingness to be available to help anyone out.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his beloved wife and best friend just shy of 24 years, Barbara Jean Linde Archer; step-son William Milan III, mother-in law, Alice Linde; children, Ashley Burdette (Tony); Dakota (Kierston); grandchildren, Kaylin and Rowan Burdette; our furbabies Bella and Gizmo; his brothers and sisters, Jimmy, Mike, Tom (Mary Lynne); Cathy Yochum (Rusty) all of St. Clairsville; Vicky Fowler (Duffy, deceased) Belize, John (Lisa) Sidman, PA; many friends he made along the way and Cindy (Dawn).

It was Mark’s wish to be cremated with no viewing.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service at a later date by invitation. Arrangements entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home.
