LEE PAULL III

Lee Cunningham Paull III, 78, a lifelong resident of Wheeling, WV, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 7, 2020, surrounded by his family.

Lee was born February 23, 1942 in Wheeling, a son of the late William Glessner Paull and Katherine (Foulk) Mazer.

Lee started in the insurance business in 1961 with Lee C. Paull Insurance and was the fourth generation of this insurance family. After working with his family business for a number of years, he obtained his Real Estate license in 1977, and in 1981 started his own business of Paull Associates Insurance / Real Estate. In 1985 he, along with his employees, moved to their present location on Chapline Street in Wheeling.

Lee was a member of the Wheeling Chamber of Commerce for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Wheeling Rotary; a past board member of Wheeling Hospital for 35 years; emeritus board member of The Linsly School; and a past board member of Wheeling Country Day School.

Lee was a vestry member and former trustee of Lawrencefield Parish Church and past vestry member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. He was the recipient of the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce Keystone Lifetime Achievement Award; former president of Easter Seals and past board member of the Ohio Valley Industrial and Business Corporation, the YMCA and the Salvation Army. He also volunteered at the soup kitchen at St. Luke’s Church and was a long time supporter of the Wheeling Symphony and Wheeling Ohio Valley Jaycee’s. Lee’s favorite past times included spending time with his children and grandchildren, and his yearly trip to Hilton Head, SC.

In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by a brother, William Glessner Paull; and a half-sister, Katherine Mazer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, June Lee (Welch) Paull; three children, Tamara Susan Paull, Lee Cunningham Paull IV and his wife, Jennifer and Stephanie Paull Nanners and her husband, Dr Kenneth C. Nanners, all of Wheeling; a half-brother, Tom S. Mazer of Tucson, AZ; and six grandchildren, Brett Lee Nanners, Benton Paull Nanners, Brady Charles Nanners, Faith Jacqueline Paull, Lee Cunningham Paull V and Collin Robert Paull; and the loving family dog, Buzzie Paull.

There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held with Robert Fitzsimmons officiating.
