FRANK CURTIS

Franklin Reid “Frank” Curtis, 95, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died January 21, 2021 in Forest Hill Care Center.

He was born October 24, 1925 in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Franklin James Curtis and Helen Ruth Franks Curtis.

He was a graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in Television and Broadcasting. Frank began his career in 1953 at WTRF in Wheeling and continued for 36 years until his retirement in 1989 as General Sales Manager. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post 159 in St. Clairsville. Frank was a member of East Richland Evangelical Friends Church; the St. Clairsville Rotary Club; National Train Collectors Association and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Cooper Curtis and two brothers, Donald and Curt Curtis.

Surviving are his loving wife, Helen Suzanne Warren Curtis; three children, Franklin James (Ruth) Curtis of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jeffrey Warren (Tina) Curtis of St. Clairsville, and Amy Curtis (Jeff) Everman of Georgetown, Kentucky; grandchildren, Eric (Liz) Everman and Emily Everman both of Georgetown, KY, Katherine Curtis and Helen Curtis both of Charlotte, Shawn Mowery and Justin (Kala) Mowery; five great grandchildren, Nathan Yost, Evan Yost and Wyatt Mowery, Kinzy Mowery and Reese Everman.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Private services will be held for the family at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville with Rev. Dr. Jerry Wenger officiating. Burial will be held in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
