MARY MUELLER

Mueller, Mary Louise, 87, of Wheeling, WV passed away on February 18, 2021 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

Mary Lou was born on February 13, 1934, the daughter of the late Ronald and Mary Birmingham Griffith. After graduating from the College of Mount St. Joseph, in Cincinnati, OH, Mary Lou taught music in St. Clairsville, OH. She then became a homemaker and a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She spent many hours volunteering at St. Michael Parish School and Church, as well as Florence Crittendon.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Edward M. Mueller; daughter, Mary Beth; brother, Father Ronald Griffith; brother, Walter Griffith; sister- in-law , Susan Carroll; sister-in-law, Judy Woomer, and brother-in-law, John Mueller.

She is survived by her three children, Paul Mueller of Lancaster, PA; Fred (Jane )Mueller and Anne (Ron) Stephens, both of Wheeling; her seven grand- children whom she loved so much, Andrew and Rachel Mueller of Charlotte, NC; Michael Mueller of Huntington, WV and Luke Mueller of Wheeling; Alex, and Chris (Marissa) Stephens, both of Wheeling, and Catherine (Kyle) Herd of Dickinson, ND; two sisters, Sarah (Arthur) Jones, of Johns Island, SC and Carol (Michael) Killian of Elmhurst, IL, and sisters-in-law, Delores Griffith of Pleasanton, CA, Mary Jane Morrell and Paula (Tom) Wojcik of Grand Junction, CO, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend of almost 80 years, Phyllis Cook, of St. Clairsville, OH.

The family would like to thank the following for their support and kindness shown to Mary Lou over the past few years and during her illness: Diane and Mike Anthony, Gretchen and Denny Wilson, the Estep family, Dr. Edward Chiu and staff, and the wonderful nursing and rehab staff at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home. We would also like to thank Helena Chamblin for providing wonderful care when Mary Lou was at home.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wed- nesday, February 24, 2021 at 11am at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling with Rev. Carlos Melocoton as celebrant. Inurnment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to one of the following organizations: Mount. St. Joseph University, Cincinnati, OH (msj.edu) or Catholic Charities of WV.
