SHIRLEY BROTHERS
Shirley Jean Brothers 81, of Brookside passed away Tuesday February 16, 2021 at Wheeling Hospital. She was born November 5, 1939 in Bellaire. A daughter of the late S. Edward and Elizabeth “Honey” (Socea) Brown Sr.
She was a former employee of L.S. Good Inc. Wheeling, a member of then Kirkwood Methodist Church, a member of the Bridgeport Athletic Boosters, and the Cub Scouts Den Mother, and she loved to sew, crochet, and cross stitching. Shirly loved to keep in touch with family and friends by using her Ipad.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Judi Lauter, a brother Edward Brown Jr. and twin granddaughters.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 63 years James C. Brothers Sr., sons Chuck (Marcia) Brothers of Woodsfield, Richard A. (Lori) Brothers of Acworth, GA, and a daughter Bonnie Sue Brothers of Bridgeport, a sister Nancy Otto of Bridgeport, five grandchildren Erin (Patrick) Bennett, Keri (Jared) Brittain, Lisa (Bill) Laughman, Dr. Joseph (Ann) Hall, and Stephanie Hall, nine great grandchildren Carson, Emerson, Hayden, Haylee, Loukas, Jonathan, Abby, Donavan, and Thomas, and one great-great grandson Bryson.
Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Friday February 19, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where services will be held on Saturday at 11 am, with Rev. James Hoff and Rebecca Latynski officiating, interment in Weeks Cemetery Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either St Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, Shriners Hospitals for Children 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, or Kirkwood United Methodist Church 405 W. Bennett St, Bridgeport, Ohio 43912.
