V. ELLEN OTTO

Vernice Ellen Otto, 88 of Centerville, Ohio, died March 25, 2021 at Forest Hill Nursing Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio.

She was born July 4, 1932 in Armstrongs Mills, Ohio a daughter of the late Clarence Forest Phillips and Flora Agnes Piper Phillips.

Ellen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was graduate of Centerville High School, a life-long dairy farmer, and a member of Centerville Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Otto; a son, Bradley D. Otto; a brother, Roger Phillips; two sisters, Dorothy Mayhugh Ragase and Ruth Winzenreid.

Ellen is survived by her sons, Stan (Peggy Heslop) Otto of Centerville and Dennis (Carolyn) Otto of Pennville, Indiana; a sister, Pauline Mahaffey of Cambridge; a brother, Wayne Phillips of Jacobsburg; 6 grandchildren, David, Stacy, Darek, Denise, Denny, and Lance; 7 great grand- children; 13 nieces and nephews.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, facial coverings and social distancing will be required. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Karen Byrne officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Belmont, Ohio.
