HARRY KOTELLOS

Harry Kotellos, 88, passed away on April 5.

Harry was born in Martins Ferry, OH, to Zacharias and Katina Kotellos. He grew up the middle child, alongside his brothers, John, Mike and Tony. After high school he met Jean Doyle, who was attending nursing school. They dated through college and married after graduation. They retired to Hilton Head Island, SC. They were married for 62 years, until Jean passed away in 2019.

Harry graduated from West Point in 1956, he and Jean were married and he then joined the Air Force. He piloted missions out of Puerto Rico during the Cuban Missile Crisis in KC-135’s and out of Thailand during the Vietnam War in “whatever he wanted to fly.”

Harry is survived by his children, Kathi, Kevin, Ellen, Kristin and Doyle; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by his son, Billy, and his wife Jean.

Service and burial with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date. Both Jean and Harry will be interred together at Arlington.

Harry’s son Doyle currently receives amazing services from Gateway-Reed House, and NAMI of the Low Country was Harry’s favorite charity.
