RICHARD BURNS

Richard Michael “Dickie” Burns, 66, of Sewickley Pa, formerly of Bridgeport, OH, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was born September 11, 1954, son of the late Richard and Eleanor Burns. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Burns.

Dickie is remembered by his friends as an outstanding athlete having played baseball and football at Bridgeport High School, Legion baseball and then attending and graduating from WVU on a baseball scholarship. To his family he was such a generous and caring brother and uncle who loved talking about his family. He was a stranger to no one and always made new friends. He was a “big kid” at heart, and holidays were his favorite time to celebrate, especially the Fourth of July and his fabulous firework display. Dickie was a very loving father to his children and his life was entirely devoted to them. Dicke was sole proprietor of Maye and Maye Cleaning Service in Leetsdale and formerly owned Kubla’s Bar in Morgantown West Virginia. He will dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Blaise and Lance, stepdaughter, Candice (Chris) Carder. His sisters, Denice Baker, Barbara (Chuck) Absalom, Colleen (Jack) Matkovich, Connie Tamburin, nephew, Jason (Kailei) Matkovich, nieces Erica Tamburin, Jacklin (Mike) Pfaff, Jamie Matkovich (fiance’ Mackenzie Koehler), great nephews, Kyler Tamburin, Patrick and Connor Pfaff, great nieces, Ryah Rotilio and Scarlette Pfaff. Friends will be received, Thursday, from 11:00 AM to time of Blessing Service at 1:30 PM, in the Kasper-Hahn Funeral and Cremation Services, 547 8th Street, Ambridge, 724-266-2459, Burial will follow at Good Samaritan Cemetery, Fair Oaks.
