ROBERT COPELAND
Robert S. “Bob” Copeland, 86 of Lafferty, Ohio died Monday, July 19, 2021 at his home. He was born January 31, 1935 in Lafferty, Ohio son of the late Joseph Leslie and Mildred Day Shry Copeland.
Bob was a retired equipment operator for the Consolidated Coal Company, a member of the Bannock United Methodist Church. He was a UMWA Organizer and a farmer. “Like his father and grandfather, he loved farming and the equipment associated with farming.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Wenner and Margaret Bethel.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie L. Hartman Copeland, whom he married on January 31, 1998, children, Joseph (Jo Ann) Copeland of Flushing, Ohio, Carrie (Ralph) Barker of Unionport, Ohio, Amy (Tom) Ludewig of Colliers, West Virginia and Leslie Copeland of St. Clairsville, Ohio and his stepson, John (Wendy) McBeth of Belmont, Ohio and brother-in-law, Robert (Sandy) Hartman of West Lafayette, Indiana. Also five grandchildren, Heather Copeland, Brian (Jessica) Barker, Brad (Dana) Barker, Nicolette (Chris) Hill and Kyle Copeland and four, great grandchildren, Josie, Lane, Levi and Madison. Bob wished to thank Mark Lucas, Gene Magnani, Joe Coffield, Dennis Shippy, Eric Fijalowski and his best buddy farm boss, Mason Conway.
A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held at the Bannock United Methodist Church on Thursday from 12 pm until the time of the Celebration of Bob’s Life services at 1 pm with Rev. Al Hoder officiating.
