ALICE WAGNER

Alice M. Wagner, 97 of Flushing Ohio passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Continuing Health Care at Forest Hill in St. Clairsville, Ohio.

She was born on April 15, 1924, in Thornville, Ohio to the late Herman and Nellie (Lyle) Long and graduated from Thornville, High School in 1942. In 1945, she married Lloyd Wagner and they raised three children together James, Stanley and Linda in Cincinnati.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Lloyd, in 1980, her daughter, Sister Linda Wagner in 1999 and her parents, sisters, Martha (Long) Kaser in 1970 and Ruth (Long) Hoisington in 2020.

Alice lived in Villas, New Jersey for several years and worked at the Lutheran Home at Ocean View. After Lloyd passed away, Alice moved to Long Island, New York to live with her daughter who served the Lutheran Deaconess Community until her death in 1999. Alice returned to Lancaster, Ohio in 1999 before moving to Flushing, Ohio. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and especially visiting Zion Christian Retreat and Nature Center.

She is survived by her sons, James R. (Darla) Wagner of Flushing, Ohio and Stanley L. (Lucia) Wagner of Centerville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Heather (Robert) Knox of Flushing, Ohio, Thomas (Brandi) Wagner of Cincinnati, Ohio, Susan (Shawn) Hollon of Springfield, Ohio, Steve (Tiffany) Wagner of Columbus, Ohio, and Nancy (Robert) Pederson of Springfield, Ohio; ten great grandchildren, Garrett Knox, Nathan, Claire and Grace Wagner, Maria and Nicholas Hollon, Roman and Stella Wagner and Tyler and Katelyn Pederson and nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank Forest Hill Continuing Health Center and Valley Hospice in Wheeling West Virginia for love and care of Alice.

Funeral service will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Burial will follow in Forest Rose Cemetery. Friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
