Carol Sue (Thompson) Hill, 77, Adena, Ohio, traded her earthly body on October 7, 2021, and went to walk among the angels after a heroic 8-year battle with cancer.
Born October 6, 1944, in Adena, Ohio, she was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Lila Thompson, brothers William (Doris) Durbin and Robert Thompson, and sister, Luella (Raymond) Bailey, and most recently by her husband, Terry Hill. Left behind to cherish her memory are her sister, Mary Lou (Larry) Bartrug, daughters Tammy Theriot (Scott Nifong) and Diana Hill (Tee) Thompson, and sons Dwain (Krysta) Hill and Randy (Iris) Cologie, and Mark (Misty) Touville; sister in law Betty Thompson, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was a 1962 graduate of Adena High School and a member of Post 525 American Legion Auxiliary where she had been past president, treasurer, and poppy day chair.
She was a member of the Adena United Methodist Church, but more importantly, a woman of faith.
Carol Sue was a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all she met, but more importantly she was a Mother, stepmother, grandmother, great- grandmother, team mother, band mother, class mother and “like-a-mother” to other’s kids – – and ALL these kids were proud to call her mom. In her career with the Jefferson County Library System, her work with the summer reading program at Adena Library touched the lives of many local children.
She was small but mighty, battling Lymphoma like a heavyweight. She would tell you “if you get the choice to sit it out or dance, just dance.”
The family would like to thank Dr. Porsche Beetham and Dr. Mohammad Rahman and their staffs, the Teramana Cancer Center, and Valley Hospice, as well as friends and family members who have been by our side or kept us close in prayer.
Friends will be received Thursday October 14, 2021, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 60 South Bridge Street, Adena, Ohio where services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Barry Hall, officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
Donations can be made to the Teramana Cancer Center, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or a charity of your choice.
