FRED SKINNER

Fred Lee Skinner, 77, of Somerton passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Somerton, Ohio on December 27, 1943 to the late Thomas and Martha (Mann) Skinner.

Fred was a graduate of Barnesville High School and a retired coal miner. He was a member of the Somerton Church of Christ and regularly attended the Sandy Ridge Church of Christ. He loved hunting, antiquing, going to auctions, going to grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events, spending time with friends at McDonalds, visiting the Barnesville Antique Mall, and mowing his lawn.

He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy Skinner of 57 years, whom he married on April 20, 1963 in St. Clairsville, Ohio; son Brent Skinner, son Todd (Donna) Skinner, granddaughter Natasha (Deron) Shilling, grandson Kody (Chelsey) Skinner. He was a proud Pap to 5 great- grandchildren; Bryar Shilling, Brogan Shilling, Remmy Skinner, Kolson Skinner, and Lainey Skinner. He is also survived by three sisters; Linda (Bob) Pethia of Newtown, PA, Betty Gordon of Greenfield, Indiana, Barbara Sampson of Columbus, Ohio, and one brother, John (Connie) Skinner of Barnesville, Ohio, along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. with Corey Powell officiating at Campbell- Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home 319 N. Chestnut Street Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library and the Sandy Ridge Church of Christ.
