RICHARD ”RICK” MARLING

Richard V. Marling, 73, of Choctaw, Oklahoma, formerly of Jacobsburg, Ohio, passed away suddenly on April 11, 2022.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Russell Marling and Edith Hixenbaugh Marling of Shadyside; brothers, William J. Russell H., Gerald D. and Robert L.; sisters, Emma Lou and Beth Ann; brothers-in-law, Frank Carpino and G. Kent Moore; sister-in-law, Marilyn Marling.

Rick is survived by his wife, Debra Gasaway Marling of Choctaw, OK; his son, Richard V. (Ann) Marling Jr. and grandson, Ryan of Shadyside, OH; his daughter, Rebekah A. (Jeremie) Detling of Barnesville, OH, grandchildren, triplets, Ayden, Rylen and Grace, grandsons, Luke and Joel, granddaughter, Bradlyn Detling all of Barnesville, OH; son, James (Kristen) Gasaway and daughter, Gerra Gasaway and grandchildren, Cortney, Carly, Marra, Skyler and Hagen all of Choctaw, OK.

Also surviving are brother, Edward (Lynn) Sandy of Bellaire, OH, Sisters, Georgene Carpino of Shadyside, OH, Karen (Richard) Stack of Jacobsburg, OH and Pamela Moore of Jacobsburg; sister-in- law, Sally Marling of Bellaire, OH; and many nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly.

Rick was a mechanic and worked at Belmont Oliver in St. Clairsville, Ohio before moving to Choctaw, OK, he was employed at Walmart at the time of his death. Rick loved Nascar and fixing cars, or anything that had to do with mechanics. He was a Methodist by faith.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Jacobsburg United Methodist Church on May 23, 2022, from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service at Noon with Rev. Thomas Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire. Toothman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
