DALE BARNES

Dale Richard Barnes, avid lover of long truck rides without a destination, passed away at age 77 on May 30, 2022 at UPMC Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. His strong work ethic finally took its toll.

By his side was his devoted wife of 57 years, Doris Wenckoski Barnes of Bellaire, OH; son, Gary (Cyndi) Barnes of Springfield, OH; daughters, Gina (Jason) Horan of Bethesda, OH and Sharon (Brandon) Pastor of St. Clairsville, OH; 8 grandchildren, Alexandria and Gabrielle Barnes, Blake, Cassidy, and Morgan Horan, and Tyson, Griffin, and Hudson Pastor.

Dale was preceeded in death by his parents, Joseph “Butch” Barnes and E. Loure Lamp Barnes.

Surviving are his six brothers and sisters, Dave (Sandi) Barnes, Don (Kathie) Barnes, Dan (Debbie) Barnes, Diane (Randy) Barack, Debbie Barnes and Doris Ann Starkey. All of which still reside in “the valley”. He also has many nieces, nephews, and close extended family.

As many know, Dale had a love for fast cars, tough trucks, and vintage vehicles. He spent many years working on the farm and operating heavy machinery. What some don’t know is he was famous for his spaghetti and soups. He was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist, but most of all he was known for his love of family.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Thursday from 2-8 pm where services will be held on Friday at 10 am with F-ather Daniel Heusel officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
