JOHN MICHAEL BURGHY
John Michael “Mike” Burghy, 59, of St. Clairsville, OH, died June 23, 2022, in Wheeling Hospital. As a final act of kindness, he was able to help save lives by being an organ donor through CORE.
He was born February 21, 1963, in Wheeling, WV, a son of Bernadine P. “Bert” Palmer Burghy and the late John R. “Sonny” Burghy.
Mike was a sheet metal worker from Local #33 currently working at the Cardinal Plant. He was a Methodist by faith. His interests included: anything outdoors, camping, Seneca Lake, bonfires, off road four wheeling, the woods, and most of all spending time with family, especially his three grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded by in death by a sister, Bobbie Jo Burghy; and a brother, Clarence Hoffman.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Susie Russell Burghy; three sons, Matt (Sammie) Burghy, Khris (Jennifer Hicks) Burghy, and Coty (Maranda) Burghy; three grandchildren, Braylen, Ryker and Maizie Burghy; five siblings, Terri (John) Knox, Bryan (Rhonda) Hoffman, Carol (Ken) Phillips, Betty Burghy, and Shelly Smith; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, OH on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Warnock Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Mike’s memory to any local animal shelter or rescue.
