MARY ANN DUDZIK

Mary Ann (Shank) Dudzik, 62, of Dillonvale, Ohio (Ramsey) passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at UPMC Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was born at Martins Ferry Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio on January 8, 1960 to Chester and Elizabeth (Winski) Shank.

Mary Ann graduated from Buckeye West High School in 1978 attending Jefferson County Joint Vocational School receiving her cosmetology license, working as a cosmetologist for several years. She also worked for Convenient in Yorkville and Bec-Wood Hills Golf Course in Rayland. Mary Ann enjoyed her years of employment and made many lifelong friends while working. She also became a dedicated volunteer in the Activities Department of Sienna Hills Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation in Harrisville, Ohio. The residents and patients looked forward to and waited for Mary Ann to arrive each week where she helped them stay active with games, music, talking, much laughter, assisting them in remembering and reminiscing, and sharing family stories about their lives. Mary Ann had that special touch of listening and the great gift of loving each and everyone of her “friends” at Sienna Hills.

Mary Ann married the love of her life, Gary Dudzik, on October 19, 1985 at St. Casimir’s Church. They were happily married for 28 years. Gary passed away on February 1, 2014. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Elizabeth Shank, brother -in-laws Bob Hoskins and John Dudzik and sister-in-law Debbie (Donahue) Dudzik.

Mary Ann is survived by her sister, Phyllis Hoskins of Aurora, Colorado, her brother Michael (Joyce) Shank of Dillonvale, Ohio, nieces Angel and April Hoskins of Colorado and Tia Lynn Dudzik of Tiltonsville, Ohio; nephews Michael (Brittany) Shank of Bloomingdale, Ohio and Jared (Cayleigh) Shank of Cincinnati, Ohio, two great nephews Oliver and Colin Shank and one more niece or nephew due in March of 2023. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Debbie (Dudzik) Taylor of Martins Ferry, Ohio and her uncle, Albert Cybulski, many many cousins and friends and her cherished fur-baby Leo who she adopted in 2019 after Leo’s long journey from Phuket, Thailand, they were the perfect match.

Mary Ann was an active member of St. Casimir’s Church in Adena, Ohio. She loved her church and her church family. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club and the Rosary Society serving as the Faithful Needs for Beads Coordinator, Maker and Teacher, enabling rosaries to be distributed around the world. If you were blessed to know Mary Ann, then you were probably on her prayer list at one time or another as she was faithful to pray. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and has now heard the words “Well done good and faithful servant.”

Family and friends are welcome to attend Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am on Friday, August 26 with recitation of the rosary beginning at 10:30am at the St. Casimir’s Church 221 Hanna Avenue, Adena, Ohio with Msgr. John Kolesar officiating. Internment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain. A Celebration of Life for Mary Ann will be held immediately after at the American Legion 79 Hanna Avenue in Adena.
