ELMER “PETE” WILSON
Elmer J. “Pete” Wilson, 79 passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the Wheeling Hospital. He was born February 26, 1943, the son of the late Donald V. and Gertrude (Jones) Wilson.
Pete was retired after 35 years of service from the Ormet Company as a crane operator. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving 2 years in France. Pete loved cheering on the Purple Riders and Ohio State Buckeyes and was a diehard fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Brett M. Wilson in 2016, brothers Donald and William Wilson, sister; Nancy Bailey, brother- in- law, Robert Bailey, nephew; Bobby Bailey and sister-in-law; Rose Mealy.
Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years Caroline (Morris) Wilson. They were united in marriage on September 25, 1971, daughter -in- law; Brenda L Wilson, granddaughters; Abigail Elise and Adeline Grace Wilson and nephew Kevin Wilson.
Family and friends will be received at Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH on Monday, October 10, 2022, from 5 to 7pm and on Tuesday, October 11 from 11am to time of service at 1:00pm, with Rev. Jim Hoff officiating, burial to follow at Holly Memorial Garden, Pleasant Grove, full Military Honors will be presented by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
