JOHN SPIGA

He was born in Martins Ferry on July 22, 1949, a son of the late John J. Spiga, Sr and Agnes E. Pabin Spiga. A graduate of Seton Central High School, Lafferty and a Union Township Trustee, John was a coal miner for many years and worked his family farm. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Cadiz.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were two brothers, Mark S. Spiga and James A. Spiga. Surviving is one son: Bryan D. (Becca) Butler of Belmont; two daughters: Amanda M. Spiga of Wilmington, NC and Sarah E. Spiga of St. Clairsville; one brother, Joseph E. Spiga; five sisters: Veronica (Tim) Fitzsimmons, Marie Jackson, Rosalie (Robert) Powell, Judith Spiga, Juliana (Peter) Wood; five grandchildren; his loving partner, Jennifer Gulla.

Friends will be received at Warren Funeral Home, Flushing, Friday, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 10:00am in St Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, Cadiz, with Rev. Frederick Kihm the celebrant. Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Lafferty.
