CHARLES “CHUCK” MURPHY

Charles “Chuck” William Murphy, 89, son of the late William and Martha Murphy, passed away 10-23-22 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va, He was born in Jerusalem, Ohio, and resided most recently at The Walton Home in Barnesville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by siblings Norma Reischman (Ed), Miles Richard (Jo) Murphy, Barbara McCort (Glen), Randall Murphy, Marlene Murphy, Nancy Cochran, James P. (Lynn) Murphy, and Sandra Murphy, and survived by sister Betty Gastineau (Don), Granville, Ohio.

He is also survived by sons, Steven Murphy, Marietta, Ohio, David Murphy, Zanesville, Ohio, Phillip (Tequilla) Murphy, Bradenton, Florida, and Samuel (Autumn) Murphy, Greenville, S.C., and by Grandchildren, Morgan, Evan, and Sean, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Chuck served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later was called to be a Baptist minister and pastor at various churches in Ohio, leading his own worship services with his beautiful singing voice. He had received training at Chattanooga Temple School in Tennessee.

There will be a Celebration of His Life in Barnesville at a later date and burial will be in Beaufort National Cemetery in South Carolina.
