ROBERTA “BERTIE” STEWART
Roberta Ann “Bertie” Stewart 90, of St. Clairsville passed away Monday, October 31, 2022, at Wheeling Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 13, 1931, in Martins Ferry the daughter of the late Isaiah and Hazel (Davis) Jackson.
Bertie was a homemaker and a member of the former Wayman A.M.E. of Martins Ferry. One of her favorite pass time things to do was watch birds and deer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Brice Kimbro, second husband, David Stewart, son; Charles “Sonny” Branson, son- in-law; Tunch Ilkin; grandson; Phillip Chase, brothers; James, Donald, Robert, and Kenneth Jackson, stepchild; Diane Freeman.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Cynthia (Wayne) Chase of St. Clairsville, Karen Ilkin of Daytona Beach, FL., granddaughter; Monica Chase, stepchildren; David (Jeff) Stewart of Montgomery AL., step-grandchildren; Gina and Tyrone.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the Wilson Funeral Home — Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry from 11am till time of service at 1pm with Rev. Jim Agnew officiating. Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
