RUTH HANSON
Ruth Francis (Shaw) Hanson, 95, of Bellaire, OH, passed away on November 12, 2022 at the Forrest Hill Retirement Community of St. Clairsville, OH
She was born on October 2, 1927 to Charles and Anna (McCort) Shaw in Barnesville, OH.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T Hanson Sr., in 2003; two brothers, George Shaw, Carl Mahoney; and two nieces: Patricia and Ruth Anne Mahoney.
Ruth was a Treasurer of the United Methodist Women’s Club – Bellaire, OH, a member of the District United Methodist Women’s Club, a member of the Eastern Ohio Conference of Methodist Church, and a District Lay Speaker. She was also a member of AARP and an avid bowler on many teams throughout the years.
Ruth enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo, and baking in her past time. Christmas was always spent at Ruth’s home surrounded by her closest family members.
Ruth is survived by her three sons, John T. (Barb Lay) Hanson Jr. of Cape Coral, FL, Gary W. (Kathy) Hanson of Canton, OH, David (Nancy) Hanson of Bridgeport, OH; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home – Bellaire Chapel, Bellaire, OH.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, 11 a.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home – Bellaire Chapel, Bellaire, OH.
