DONALD “HOT DOG” WARD

Donald “Hot Dog” Ward Sr. 93 of Shadyside, Ohio died Thursday, December 15, 2022 at his home.

He was born January 13, 1929 in Bellaire, Ohio son of the late Emery E. and Edna McCombs Ward. Hot Dog was a retired truck driver for the Teamsters, a member of the American Legion Post 521 Shadyside, Ohio and a US Army veteran of World War II.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Mary Margaret Campbell Ward, whom he married on January 29, 1949, one daughter, Brenda Lee Ward, two grandsons, Jacob Warner and Eric Wheeler and son-in-law, Steve Warner.

Surviving are his children, Tracy Warner of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Don (Debbie) Ward, Jr. and Michael Ward both of Shadyside, Ohio. Also three grandchildren, Leslie Ward, Mike Warner and Owen Ward and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Parker.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio on Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Bishop Michael Tolliver officiating. Entombment in the Garden Mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Wheeling, West Virginia. Belmont County Council of the American Legion will conduct service on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
