FREDDY WRIGHT

Freddy Dean Wright, 75, of Bethesda, OH passed away after fighting a courageous battle of Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, on Friday, January 27, 2023. He was surrounded by his daughters, grandchildren, great – grand children and wife of 56 years, the day and days preceding his passing. His grandson, Isaiah Dean, was waiting for him at the golden gates of Heaven.

Freddy was born August 3, 1947, in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He was the son of the late Harry and Melvina (Snyder) Wright.

He retired as a Reclamation Foreman with CONSOL Energy. Freddy had a love for the outdoors. For many years, he enjoyed hunting and trapping which he earned his nickname, “Foxman.” His almighty love was fishing. You could find him on a Wednesday evening or weekend, fishing a club tournament. His favorite lakes were Salt Fork and Piedmont.

Of all the roles in his life, he always was “The Protector” to his family and loved them dearly. His favorite role was “Pap.” He spent many miles driving I-70 W to watch his grandchildren over the years. “Pap” was known as their favorite “Big Play Toy.”

He is survived by his wife, AKA high school sweetheart, Barbara (Kemp) Wright of Bethesda, OH; daughters, Wendi Miller of Cambridge, OH; Fredrika “Dee” (Richard) Hashman of Bethesda, OH; brother, Paul (Vickie) Wright of Florida; grandchildren, Logan (Courtney) Miller of Zanesville, OH; Kaden (Brandie) Miller of Cambridge, OH and Lundyn Miller of Cambridge, OH; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Everleigh; son in law, Donnie Miller of New Concord; and his little fur baby, Zoey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Wright, and a grandson, Isaiah Miller.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 31, from 10 AM until time of service at 2 PM at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with Pastor Mark Eikenberry officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda.
