CHARLES JORDAN
Charles was born September 24, 1947 in Wheeling WV to Arnetta and Charles Jordan Sr. and raised in St. Clairsville OH. He died unexpectedly of a stroke/heart attack on 12/6/2022 in Aurora, CO and went to be with Jesus.
Charles graduated from St. Clairsville High School then joined the Navy and served onboard ship during the Vietnam War. After returning from the Navy, he worked many jobs before joining Columbia Gas & Oil for 25 years starting first as a meter reader and rising up through the ranks.
Taking early retirement, he moved to Aurora, CO in 1999 to be near his son, Josh, who graduated from Overland High School before attending Colorado State University. Ultimately, Josh became a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Charles worked 8 years for SUSS Motors in Aurora in the new car department.
In 2007 Charles met Jill Harris at Panera Bread where he sat and drank coffee while she checked her email before going to work. She needed some manpower to move apartments and the relationship deepened after having him for dinner to express her appreciation for his help. He married Jill Harris November 22, 2008. Eight months later he was diagnosed with MS.
Despite his disease, Charles lived a full life enjoying a variety of activities, traveling to many places including an Alaskan Cruise, and making new friends. The faith of his youth was strengthened while attending services and Bible Studies at Restoration Christian Fellowship and most recently Colorado Community Church where he served on the Security Team. He enjoyed praying with his wife every night before she went to bed.
Even though he was from Ohio, Charles was a hardcore Michigan fan and supported the Dallas Cowboys. He loved football, basketball and golf (especially if Tiger Woods was playing!). Every March Madness found him in his easy chair from morning to night.
Charles was known as a kind, gentle man with a great sense of humor and a servant heart.
Charles is survived by his wife, Jill Harris Jordan; son, Dr. Joshua Jordan (Ivy) plus grandchildren, (Roman and Sloane) from West Fargo, ND. His four brothers Wayne (Linda), Dave (Kim), Kevin from St. Clairsville OH and Nathan (Carolyn) from Wheeling, WV. In addition to many nieces and nephews around the area and country.
A Celebration of Life was held 2/2/2023 at Colorado Community Church, Aurora, CO.
