EMIL “JACK” KNOLL

Emil John “Jack” Knoll, 95, passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2022.

He was a longtime resident of St. Clairsville, Ohio, and before that, St. Louis, Missouri. He was born in 1926 in Randolph County, Illinois.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Laura, his wife, June, daughter, Barbara, and brother, Willard.

He is survived by two daughters, Patty Knoll of Kirkwood, Missouri, and Susan (Peter) Horty of Wilmington, Delaware, along with five grandchildren. Sister-in-law, Dottie Knoll. Step children, Brad, Chad (Marie) Kocher and Shaye Chandler.

Jack was the owner of Jack Knoll Heating & Cooling. He enjoyed woodworking, building and selling outdoor furniture and birdhouses, well into his 90’s. Jack loved NASCAR and cars in general.

Jack also loved the Cardinals baseball team. At the age of 92, he and a friend took turns driving to and from St. Louis, to see his daughter, a Cardinals game and the St. Louis Arch.

Jack served in the U.S. Navy in Guam during WWII, as part of the “Greatest Generation.”

Jack was laid to rest in Chester, Illinois, at Evergreen Cemetery.

The family would like to thank his kind healthcare workers, Brenda, Rhonda and Abby, for taking good care of him. In addition, Amedisys Hospice for making him comfortable during his final days. Also, thank you to his many friends in St. Clairsville, who helped make his last few years happy.
