ERNEST BURROUGHS

Ernest was retired from the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant and serving two tours of duty in the Vietnam Conflict and also retired as a Corrections Officer in the State of Missouri and was a Methodist by faith. He was a member of the American Legion Post 34 in Cadiz.

In addition to his parents, her was preceded in death by a brother, Sonny McConnell; an infant brother, George Edward McConnell; a sister, Laura Fryer, and step-father Raymond McConnell

Surviving are his children, Ernest L. Burroughs, Jr., Leva Lorraine Burroughs and Becky Burroughs all of Minnesota; three grandchildren, Noah, Chloe and Aidan; siblings, Karen (Jim) Garrett of Lafferty, OH, Sue Kanopsic, Andrea (David) Swann both of Cadiz and Kevin (Lynn) McConnell of Scio, OH.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 4-8 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with additional visitation on Saturday form 11 am until time of funeral service at 1 pm with Rev. Cherie Kail officiating. Final arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family. Full Military Honors will be conducted by Cadiz American Legion Post 34 at 12:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Athens VFD or House of the Shepherd Church.
