PAUL HAMMOND
Paul Lowell Hammond Jr., 70, of Jacobsburg, Ohio, died April 9, 2023 in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, West Virginia.
He was born September 21, 1952, in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Paul L. Hammond and Cora Belle Porter Hammond.
Paul was a retired electrician from IBEW Local 141 in Wheeling and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Cedar Avenue Church of Christ in Moundsville and a member of the American Legion in Shadyside.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Thomas Gatten Jr.; a niece, Mary Gatten; a nephew, Thomas Gatten III; and two great nephews, Stephen and Timmy Gatten.
Paul is survived by his sister, Patricia Gatten; nephews, R.D. (Donna) Ramsey, Dean “Pete” (Jamie) Ramsey and Frank Gatten; a niece, Emma (Bob) Moore; great nieces, Payton Ramsey, Amy (Richard) Murillo, Courtney (Michael) Vilano; great nephews, Rob (Shelby) Moore and Scott Ruschak; great-great nieces and nephews, Cheyenne Trigg, Thomas Moore, Ricky Murillo, George Smith, Mikey, Oliver, Emi and Ella Vilano, Nevaeh, Jason, Allena and Declan Ruschak.
Honoring Paul’s wishes there will be no public services. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg.
