William Matthew Tomich, Sr., 77, of St. Clairsville, OH passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at his home. He was born September 26, 1945 in Bellaire, OH., a son of the late Louis and Virginia Brandon Tomich, Sr.
William began his iron working career in 1964 and retired a proud member of Ironworker's Local 549 after 36 years of loyal service. After his retirement he enjoyed going to auctions and tinkering on projects in his work- shop at home. He was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church and Weyer Lodge 541 F & AM of Centerville, OH.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of their children, Linda Sykes Tomich, in 1978; a daughter, Janet Tomich Benadim in 2017; a brother, Louis Tomich, Jr.; a sister, Betty Garde.
Surviving are his wife, Madlyn Zurick Wilson Tomich of St. Clairsville; his children, William M. Tomich, Jr. of Prospect, OH., Kimberly (Greg) Ward of West Richland, WA., Robert Tomich of Bellaire; a sister, Norma Lee of Dayton, OH; four grandchildren, Robert Allen Tomich, II, Matthew Tomich, Tabitha Tomich and Tarek Benadim; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 pm with Pastor Michael Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Belmont County Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Masonic services will be held Wednesday at 7:45 pm in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or Knights Templar Eye Foundation.
